Content Guidelines

At Sansar, we provide a shared virtual reality experience created by our community where creators use their imagination to design original content and experiences. In conjunction with our , we provide the following Guidelines that apply for all user-generated content or activity on our services. To protect the integrity of our community and enjoyment of the experiences on Sansar, we reserve the right to suspend any account for conduct or content that violate these Guidelines, the rights of others or the law, and we also may remove any associated content.

Content is anything that you create, share, post or otherwise transmit that another person could see, hear or otherwise experience in or in the .

Prohibited Content

Prohibited Content (as further described below) may not be created, shared, posted or otherwise transmitted using our Sansar products or services under any circumstances.

Examples of Prohibited Content that will not be tolerated in Sansar include:

Illegal Content

Content involving illegality, such as piracy, criminal activity, terrorism, obscenity, child pornography, gambling, and illegal drug use is prohibited. Any content or activity featuring, encouraging, offering, or soliciting illegal activity is prohibited.

Unauthorized Content

Do not create or upload infringing or unauthorized content, such as content that you did not create or do not have permission to use, as further described in more detail below.

Nudity, Pornography or Other Sexual Content

Content featuring sexually explicit content and activities, such as pornography, sexual acts, nudity and sexual services, including solicitation and offers for such content, are prohibited. Content or activities that threaten or promote sexual violence or exploitation are strictly prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement. Child exploitation will be reported to authorities via the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. While we understand that some nudity might be intended for educational, scientific or artistic purposes, we restrict this content as members of our global community come from different cultural backgrounds. However, in limited educational or scientific contexts, we may make exceptions to these policies in our sole discretion.

Hateful Content

Cruel or hateful content or activity that could harm, harass, promote, encourage, facilitate or condone discrimination, denigration, objectification, or violence against, or that is primarily intended to incite hatred of, individuals or groups based on race, ethnic origin, religion, nationality, disability, gender, age, veteran status, physical characteristics, medical condition, sexual orientation, gender or gender identity is prohibited. Any and all accounts associated with any hateful content or activity will be suspended or terminated.

Any content or activity that could harm, harass, promote, encourage, facilitate or condone violence against animals is prohibited.

Any content or activity that attempts to intimidate, degrade, abuse or bully others, or creates a hostile environment for others is considered harassment, and is prohibited. Depending on the severity of the offense, your account may be suspended or terminated.

Violent Content

Intensely violent or graphic content that could be construed as primarily intended to be shocking, sensational, or disrespectful is prohibited.

Private Information

Do not upload or share content that may reveal private personal information (such as real name or location) about individuals without permission.

Impersonation

Content or activity meant to impersonate an individual or organization is prohibited. Any attempts to misrepresent yourself as an employee or representative ofSansar will not be tolerated and will result in account suspension or termination. Any Content or Sansar store listings that contain any references to Sansar inc, Sansar, Sansar-related terminology that may imply a relationship with, sponsorship, endorsement, or employment by Sansar is prohibited.

Do not upload Content that promotes or could be construed as primarily intended to evade limitations on Prohibited Content.

We may remove any Content or listing that we, in our sole discretion, determine violates these Guidelines. We may restrict or delete Content, or suspend or terminate your account(s), if we, in our sole discretion, determine that you or your account have violated these guidelines.

Do Not Upload, Share or Post Anything That Is Not Yours. Create and Upload Original Content.

We encourage creators to create original content on Sansar. Content that involves replicas, derivative creation or performances of others’ copyrighted or trademarked content may violate intellectual property rights or other rights of third parties.

If you create content that is inspired by real-world objects, celebrities, characters from a movie or book, or public figures, secure all necessary rights before using and uploading the content on Sansar. Unless you have permission from the copyright or trademark owner/holder or their authorized agent, we do not permit the use of such content.

Real-world laws apply to your use of virtual reality worlds, such as Sansar, and nothing about your use of Sansar will shield you if you are violating someone else’s intellectual property. The rightful owner of the intellectual property can take direct legal action against you.

Unauthorized Content Sharing

Uploading, posting or sharing any Content that you do not own, do not have the rights to, or are not authorized to use, display or broadcast violates our Terms of Service and Terms and Conditions and may cause the account or the content to be subject of DMCA takedown request by the owners of the rights in such Content. For example, showing third-party movies and television shows without permission or uploading Content from other sites or owned by third parties without permission is a violation of our Terms of Service.

Performance Arts – you must have all necessary right to share the content and/or you must own the performance rights for that work.

Movies, TV or Sports Content – you must own or have all the necessary rights to share the content.

Twitch Broadcasts – you must have all the necessary rights to share that content.

Live Music Performance - music content should focus on live creation and performance of original music. If your live performance contains any recorded music or other recorded audio elements created or owned by someone, you must first obtain the necessary rights from the owner.

Virtual Artwork – the content should be original or you must have all the necessary rights to duplicate, display or create derivative works of original artworks owned by someone else.

Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”)

If a legally sufficient DMCA notice is submitted, we will remove the identified materials as appropriate. Repeated copyright, trademark or other intellectual property violations by a Sansar user will result in their accounts being suspended or terminated.

Listing on Sansar Store

Do not use a third-party’s intellectual property such as a copyrighted works, trademarked logo or brand name unless you have obtained all of the rights necessary to use such Content. When including pictures in your listings, use a picture that accurately represents your item so that buyers are not confused about what you're selling. Never copy or use someone else's pictures or logos without their permission.

If you are a brand or intellectual property owner or the authorized agent of one, consider making others aware of this information by including it in your listing.

If we receive a complaint from a brand or intellectual property owner, or if we believe in good faith that your listing violates these guidelines or intellectual property law, we reserve the right to remove your listing and Content (including Content in Sansar associated with the listing) and in certain circumstances revoke your Sansar privileges.

You are responsible for ensuring that your listings and associated content comply with applicable intellectual property laws. Please be aware that your compliance with these Guidelines does not guarantee your compliance with all intellectual property laws. If you need advice on intellectual property law, we suggest you contact an attorney.

The examples below are to be used for informational purposes only and should not be treated as legal advice. If you require further clarification on your rights in a specific situation, please contact an attorney.

Examples:

  • An item that uses a brand name (like Gucci®, Nike®, or Rolex®) or logo owned by a third party may be listed or uploaded in Sansar only if the item is officially offered or authorized by the brand owner (for example, Gucci America, Inc., Nike, Inc., or Rolex Watch U.S.A., Inc.).

  • An item that uses a celebrity or famous name may be listed or uploaded in Sansar only if the item is officially offered or authorized by the celebrity or famous person

  • A virtual car that looks like a particular brand of cars and uses the logo of the brand may be listed or uploaded in Sansar only if the virtual car is officially offered or authorized by the brand owner.

  • An avatar that has the appearance of a fictional character from a copyrighted work and uses the character name may be listed or uploaded in Sansar only if the avatar is officially offered or authorized by the intellectual property owner of the character.

  • Virtual artwork that replicates copyrighted artwork that is available in the real world (like the artwork of Andy Warhol or M.C. Escher) may be listed only if the virtual artwork is officially offered or authorized by the intellectual property owner of the artwork.
